We were THRILLED with our experience working with Carla!! We went from messaging her to view a home, to viewing the home at 10am the next morning, to putting in an offer two days later, and got it! Her attentiveness to our questions and and consistent initiative taken to ensure we were making the most informed decisions along the way were invaluable and greatly appreciated. Carla is also a very genuine, kind person who took time to learn about our family. She also connected us with the realtor who sold our existing house very quickly as well as provided endless resources to get our utilities up and running prior to moving in. In my mind, Carla made this process smooth, enjoyable, and she greatly exceeded my expectations! Thank you, Carla!

So I'm going to use my first legit post of 2020 to give a shoutout to someone......
If you or someone you know is looking to buy or sell a home in central Mass, I highly recommend Carla Horn as a realtor. Since we first got serious about selling our house back in January 2017, I searched around online for local realtors who could come by and give us an idea as to what rennovations needed to be done in order for us to receive maximum ROI (return on investment). I found Carla had come w. very strong credentials and glowing reviews, so I reached out to her and asked if she had time to come by and take a look. She was quick to respond to my email; I think I mightve gotten a response back literally w.in 15 to 20 minutes of me writing to her. She said she's be more than happy to come take a look
She arrived right on time for our appointment, and was completely honest w. her assessment of things. We needed a LOT of work: kitchen counters, new kitchen floor, new tub/surround and floor in the bathroom, etc..... Needless to say, Lisa and I were extremely overwhelmed at the enormity of this project, not to mention the associated price tag. Carla assured us that if we made her recommended changes, that we'd be able to get the most money back for the house when we sold it
Well, fast forward three years and $25,000 in renovations later, we took the plunge, and put the house on the market November 25, 2019. I was a bit concerned about the timing because I had always heard that the winter was hardly the best time to list a home because not many people are looking because they are too busy w. the holidays. I told Carla this, but she again told me that if we listed at the right price then "I wouldnt be surprised if we got an offer w.in three weeks of listing"
Hahahaha.... I was skeptical as hell, but went along w. it. Well, wouldnt you know that at about 5pm on November 28, just three days after we listed, not to mention it was Thanksgiving, she texted me and said "We've got an offer. Call me!!" Needless to say, I damn near dropped the phone trying to call her back. The buyer's price was a little lower than what we wanted, so I told her I would sleep on, Lisa and I would talk it over, and I'd call her in the morning. So at 9am the next morning, I told her what price we would accept. She said "I'm glad you called, because their agent has already reached out to me today to see if you guys had made a decision" We got them to agree to our price, and we had finally sold the house, nearly 14 years to the day after moved in
The process of buying and selling a house, if you've never been through it, is extremely strenuous. 95% of the time is spent sitting around waiting for things that are out of your control to happen. There were several times during the process where we became extremely worried, and reached out to Carla via phone, email or text to the point where it could almost be construed as harassment LOL She maintained the same level of professionalism, sympathy, understanding, andd patience and she had for the past three years, never letting us take our eyes off the prize
Her knowledge of the real estate market and process is second to none. Every step of the way, she had an answer to our 50 billion questions and concerns. I was especially impressed w. her network of professionals such as carpenters, plumbers, inspectors, masons, etc.... that all helped to make this process that Lisa and I knew absolutely nothing about as smooth as possible
Long story short, we close on our new house January 30, and we couldnt be happier. She even was able to negotiate our buying price down substantially from what the seller's originally wanted
None of this couldve been possible w.o the help of an experienced and professional realtor. Carla has the patience of a saint, and will do everything in her power to make sure you understand the entire process from soup to nuts, and is never more than a call or text away
